Cox Builders is incorporated as a Limited Liability Corporation and operates in the Wisconsin cooperative tradition. Each member is a partner and holds responsibility for what we all do. There are no hourly employees.
Our focus is to build an expression of the way you want to live. We want your home to be both beautiful and practical, energy efficient and enduring.
Who We Are
CHRIS COX - Manager Chris was building and designing things before he left high school. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Production in 1979. Except for a few years off working in theatre and television he has been building every since.
Chris handles most of the scheduling, design, and administrative tasks for Cox Builders. From time to time, you may see him with a tool belt on just for decorative purposes.
Chris says, "I learned to be fussy from my Dad and how to get things done from my Mom."
"Most people don?t know quite what they want, but they do want it done well. My job is to satisfy that need."

MARK KING - Carpenter & Craftsman Mark A. King, known to his friends as “Mark,” has been in the building trade for nearly 20 years. First as a painter, then as a custom homebuilder in Central Illinois, then on his own, and for the last 10 years with Cox Builders.
Since hooking up with Chris Cox in 2001, he has been making Vernon County more beautiful one building project at a time. Mark believes one of the best reasons to build a house is so that eventually he can trim it out.
Mark’s turn-ons include oatmeal raisin cookies and antique hand tools. When not working, mowing his lawn, blowing snow, or working on his own house he can be found out in his shop making sawdust or sharpening something. It has been said he can refold a fitted sheet and put it back in the original package.

GLEN DRAKE - Carpenter & Craftsman Glen hails from old world training in Pennsylvania. Although he understands a production environment he is quick to point out that we can duplicate small runs of moulding by hand quicker and for less money than hiring it out. Glen's off work time is often spent building radio controlled gliders and flying with the Coulee Region Modelers and building nifty sets for local theatre groups.
